So, finally I’ve done some self portraiture for the alternative school assignment. I’m kind of disappointed in myself because of that.
Anyway. The theme this time was “My mother”. And here is the result.

I chose to it like this because I have never done any photography of pregnant women and I find such photos harmonic and full of love.
I did not go to sleep last night. So around 6:00 am I went out in the lovely overcast weather with the sun just below the horizon. There where no shadows what so ever, and the complete silence, that was only broken by the seagulls and the sea, was so calming and comforting. Hearing the snow under my shoes when I walked around gives me a feeling of peace in my mind.

In 2007 I was lucky to get tickets to an In Flames concert in Stavanger. The scene at Folken in Stavanger is one of the most intimate scenes in Norway and it was so much fun to bring the camera. I used my D50 with the Nikon 28-70mm f/2.8 and the Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 VR (I have to give my thanks to Stavanger Foto for letting me borrow this lense) . This is the first concert I brought my camera to.

This week we had a workshop in fashion. Day one was about skin retouch which went really well and was loads of fun. On the second day we had our assignments handed out and I got a picture from Louis Vuitton, which seemed like fun. After I was done with the photo I took the liberty to take some shots for underwear commercial, I had 20 minutes left to do it and I tried out different lightings. Here are the results:

I’ve been playing around with the 20mm when it’s in the opposite direction. The awesome thing with doing that is that you can come darn close to the objects and it’s really hard to get the focus right.

I made this one over two days in photoshop. It’s not finished yet so I am posting this so you can get an update on what I’ve been doing lately. Finished version will show up in some time. There are some issues that I can’t overlook in this one.
This is a new project from me (yeah I know that I’ve got some projects going on simultaneously, but I can lay some of the others on the shelf in the meantime).

I scanned some of the films I’ve taken. One day I got bored and decided to put on some colour on one of the portraits. Sat some hours in front of the computer to get the right colours and do some fine adjustments so the colours did not smudge over in to the other areas. I found this a lot of fun and I think that I will do it over again.

I chose to take a nude of myself since I’ve never done nudes before and therefore I dared to do something. I think that I will try to do more nudes since I found it frustrating, entertaining and challenging. Will do some more nude self portraits before I go on and take in other models.
