I made this one over two days in photoshop. It’s not finished yet so I am posting this so you can get an update on what I’ve been doing lately. Finished version will show up in some time. There are some issues that I can’t overlook in this one.

This is a new project from me (yeah I know that i’ve got some projects going on simultaniously, but I can lay some of the others on the shelf in the meantime).

Hope you like it

This weeks theme for the weekly self portraiture assignment at school is “Animal”

I scanned some of the films I’ve taken. One day I got bored amd decided to put on some color on one of the portraits. Sat some hours in front of the computer to get the right colors and do some fine adjustments so the colors did not smudge over in to the other areas. I found this a lot of fun and I think that I will do it over again.

This weeks theme for the weekly self portraiture assignment at school is “Those who don’t dare…”.

I chose to take a nude of myself since I’ve never done nudes before and therfore I dared to do something. I think that I will try to do more nudes sinve I found it frustrating, entertaining and challenging. Will do some more nude selfportraits before I go on and take in other models.

Have a nice day and I will see you soon.

This is the first film I’ve ever developed on my own and with real chemicals. I’m so satisfied. The whole process is really neat and interesting so I will develop my other three films very soon and do more analog photography. The film I used is a 120 mm  Bergger iso-200 B/W film and it’s been in the camera for over a year and because of that it has lost some contrast. I did some curves-adjustments in photoshop so we actually can see what’s on the film. Since the film is a 120 mm film you can fit in either 10 6×6 photos or 8 6×7, I took 56 photos. I will only upload three pictures because the rest is just not working. I obviously did something wrong under the development since there is a lot of spots in the photos, but I will get better after some time. The camera I use is a Rolleicord from 1941.

Sorry for not posting the self portrait last week. Anyways, here’s the two last self portraits I’ve done. The last themes were “Cartoons” and “Dictator”. I’m sorry if the dictator portrait is disturbing but I think that dictators is a great topic when it comes to discussion, moral and ethics.

Adolf Hitler, head of state and chancellor of Germany.

Recently I’ve been mad at my tripod so I’m using the ground instead. I think that the result here is pretty awesome so I decided that this is going to be my new project and here is a sneekpeek at the project so far.

Nicklas Blom

11/11/2009

Last week we had Nicklas Blom as our teacher for three whole days. Nicklas Blom is a ski and commercial photographer and in under ten years he has reached the top of ski photography. He’s a very inspirational person and has a lot to say about how he has done the pictures and funny stories of happenings around the shoots.

We all hoped for lots and lots of snow when he was here, but the weather turned against us and that was not inspiring at all. I think i did okay with the lack of inspiration I had and the little amount of suntime we had (the sun goes down around 4 pm now).

The tasks he gave was energy and action and here’s the results.

Self portraiture

10/11/2009

At school we have this weekly self portraiture thing which is something we do outside of classes and it’s really inspiring to see how others solves the same theme as me.

Here is the latest self portraits I’ve done.

The theme here is “Your idol”. I tried to be Chuck Norris (the Chuck Norris from the jokes) and I did the photo in somewhat same style as Fredrik Ödman, an awesome photoshop user who has given me a lot of photoshop experience.

The theme here is “Fairytale”. This photo is unedited and is taken in Lofoten, Norway. There is this special mirror that is a tourist attraction and I did some shooting there with some friends and then I figured it was kind of cool with how the colors, transparent and the mirror worked together so then I took this photo for the assignment.

The theme here is “How do you think Jan Thomas would like you to look like”. Jan Thomas is a gay dude from Norway who is pretty famous because of his knowledge in make-up that has taken him to movie studios in USA and because he is an active debutant in the Norwegian society.

More self portraiture is coming later.

This August I started at a new school. It’s kind of a special school since we don’t get grades or anything, but we get assignments and such and we share experience. When we get to the presentation of the assignments we will talk about every picture, it varies from around 12 to 28 pictures most of the time, and the photohrapher will tell the others how he/she did the picture.

The school is in Lofoten, Norway and it’s kind of a free-year. It’s something that is kind of Scandinavian I guess, haven’t heard of any other countries than Norway, Sweden and Denmark that has such school. It’s actually a bit hard to explain it all in words, you have to experience it.

Here’s some pictures I’ve taken since my arrival.

Please enjoy =D
